In 2015 Star was acquired by Uniphar PLC, a €1 billion company offering end-to-end product support through three divisions – Supply Chain, Life Cycle Management, and Clinical Commercial. So while we’re not quite the corporate behemoth, we do benefit from significant infrastructure, investment and access to group services that help us make a genuine impact for our clients.
James has worked right across the Uniphar business and has over 20 years’ industry experience. He has recently taken up his current role with Star and has considerable experience working in a large multinational pharmaceutical healthcare company, where he was responsible for all commercial and supply chain activities.
James is really looking forward to developing Star Ireland, focusing on team building and development. He recognises Star’s commitment to building strong client relationships and incorporates that commitment every single day.
You can find James during the weekend spending time in his native Clare with his family, enjoying the local music and beautiful walks.
Nikki has over 20 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and has worked across many different roles, such as Primary Care Representative, Secondary Care Representative, Recruitment, and Sales Management, and within Account Management and Training. Nikki has also set up and run Sales Training events for clients, identified skill gaps and recommended training solutions for a number of years. More recently she has spent time in the field and in call coaching Primary and Secondary Representatives.
Nikki enjoys the people development aspect of Star and believes in maintaining processes and building frameworks to help the people in Star really shine. She has been instrumental in orchestrating development programmes and incentives for the Star Team.
When Nikki is not in the office, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
Since obtaining a Science degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Barry has worked in a number of commercial and clinical roles within the scientific, medical, and pharmaceutical industry. Each role has added to his professional business, client, and people management skills.
Barry joined Star in 2018, bringing added value to the retail and hospital sectors of the business. Having previously lead successful teams to manage new and existing product portfolios, he strives to deliver positive results and continuously drive growth for clients.
As a Project Manager he believes that the strong investment in people and openness to new business development, along with utilising the resources and solutions available within the greater Uniphar group, makes it an exciting time to be part of Star. During his free time, Barry is kept busy with a young family, enjoys cycling and likes to travel.
Noel originally trained as a Nurse before moving into Pharmaceutical sales 30 years ago. During this time he gained experience in many roles, with the last 20 years in a Sales Management position.
Noel joined Star in May 2018 and jumped at the challenge to grow and develop the teams, building and driving real customer-focused solutions for unmet needs, and moving performance from good to great.
Noel is a keen aviator and when not at Star can be found flying high, literally!
Linda has vast experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has previously worked as a Practice Manager, a Medical Representative, and has also been President of the MRII. Linda has now turned her passion to working in recruitment within the pharmaceutical sector. Her previous experience gives her an in-depth understanding into the requirements of both clients and candidates.
Linda enjoys helping people fulfil their career goals and loves placing them in their dream jobs.
When Linda is not in the office, she is a real movie buff and enjoys the major tourist attractions of her home county, County Louth.
Paula has recently joined the Star team and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience to the industry and RPO function. She has been in the recruitment industry for over five years and has worked across all industries. Paula is committed to understanding clients’ needs and offering support on the recruitment journey, while ensuring that she delivers the highest class of talent to clients’ businesses.
A Science graduate, she is a lover of health and wellbeing and when she is not working she can be found training young athletes and cooking healthy recipes for her family.
