National Account Manager Biosimilars

BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • Create the uptake of biosimilars by developing and maintaining key relationships with a wide range of customers who can support business growth in Ireland. Customer types will include, for example, heads of medicines management (high cost drugs), finance directors, prescribing advisors, pharmacists and specialist
  • Develop and maintain a business plan with particular emphasis on key accounts that will ensure sales growth of biosimilars through environmental analysis and understanding, project management, stakeholder engagement and influencing
  • Fully understand and comply with relevant legislations, including the IPHA code of

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain key account plans to obtain maximum commercial benefit for biosimilars
  • Work closely with Head of Finance to establish budgets and sales forecasts
  • Take accountability for ensuring biosimilar sales targets are met by implementation of the strategy
  • Be accountable for investment and monitoring of promotional budget with constant consideration of return of investment
    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the local customer environment and priorities and ensure biosimilar strategies and tactics are aligned accordingly

ยท Attend and participate in national and international meetings as appropriate to develop the business

  • Responsible for ensuring a high level of product, disease area and competitor knowledge
  • Share best practice at company meetings, discuss business plans and understand the overall strategic and tactical requirements for biosimilars
  • Routinely feedback any competitive or market intelligence to the Leadership Team
  • Establish and ensure the maintenance of databases relevant to the

biosimilar business

  • Work closely with the European biosimilar team to identify initiatives that support the delivery of the brand plans
  • Participate in Market Access activities to ensure timely access of product for prescribers and patients
  • Participate in appropriate business development activities for the biosimilar portfolio
  • Coordinate and manage all internal projects and programmes relating to the biosimilar business
  • Work closely with the Brand Manager for the development of Biosimilar materials
  • Keep abreast of trends in commercial initiatives relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and ensure opportunities are maximised where relevant
  • Ensure all necessary admin tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Accountable for ensuring the maintenance of data to drive contract sales excellence
  • Responsible for Adverse Event Reporting in a timely manner and in the correct format in line with the Company SOP

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Third level or relevant education, this may include significant relevant experience
  • KOL and Hospital sales experience
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Effective organisational and administrative skills
  • A history of setting and meeting key targets
  • Working with patient groups and associations
  • Budget planning and sales forecasting experience
  • Knowledge of the IPHA Code of Marketing Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Computer literacy especially in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrable high level of listening, verbal and written communications skills, a dynamic personality, strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willing to travel as demands of the role require
